VISION AND COGNITION LAB
University of Waterloo

Thank you for your interest in joining our team! We are always looking for motivated and interested students to join our team, and we'd be delighted to receive your application. We encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds including (but not limited to) all races, ethnicities, countries of origin, sexual orientations, gender identities, and religious affiliations. Here are some details on various ways to get involved:

MA and PhD Students
We will be reviewing graduate applications for the Fall 2024 deadline (i.e., for prospective students looking to start in Fall 2025). The applications are due December 1st, and you may find more information about the Doctoral Program in Psychology at UW here, about the application here. For any questions about our research, our lab, or UW, get in touch with Dr. Colombatto at clara.colombatto@uwaterloo.ca.

Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students in our lab gain experience with all aspects of the research projects — from literature review, experimental design, and stimulus creation to data collection, processing, analysis, writing, and presentation. In addition to participating in ongoing projects, students are encouraged to develop their own projects in close collaboration with the PI and graduate students.
UG students can get involved in our lab at any stage of their program -- typically starting with research apprenticeships (PSYCH 264 or 464), directed studies (PSYCH 480-486), and this can eventually lead to an honours thesis (PSYCH 499). Please get in touch at least one term in advance of the thesis start date. We prefer a two more more-term commitment to maintain consistency for individual projects.
If this is of interest, please fill out this form or contact Dr. Colombatto at clara.colombatto@uwaterloo.ca.
